He was predeceased by: his parents, Bernard O'Brien and Christina O'Brien (McInnis); his stepmother Clara (Graves); and his brothers, John and Gregory.

He is survived by: his sons, Sean Patrick (Leah Mae) and Liam Gregory (Kaitlin); his brothers, Bernard Wayne and David (Karen); and his wife Diane. He is also survived by his cousins and several nieces.
