She was predeceased by: her parents, Jean Morrow (Smith) and Clarence Morrow (CJ); her former husband George Mason; her son Bob; and her brothers, Jim and Billy Morrow.
She is survived by: her husband Charles Carlson; her children, Jim Mason (Jill), Jean Mason-Gillespie and Susan MacLeod (Don); her grandchildren, Christie Mason, Rob Mason (Amber), Heather MacLeod, Janet MacDonald (Matt), Megan MacLeod and Julie Gillespie; her stepchildren, Leslie Henry (Neil), Kari Landers (Rich) and Bill Carlson (Kristen); and her stepgrandchildren, Bill Henry (Erin), Ted Henry (Maureen), Alex Traut (Maximilian), Michael Landers (Esther), Jillian Cullen (Tim), Tommy Landers (Dana), Brett Carlson (Allison) and Ryan Carlson.
After Joan remarried, she and Charles enjoyed spending their winters in Sarasota, Florida at their home in the Meadows, where they led a very active golf and social life, only stopping that ritual when Covid struck.
