John George Gillan Obituary

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of John George Gillan (Halifax, Nova Scotia), born in New Glasgow, Nova Scotia, who passed away on November 22, 2020, at the age of 81, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, John and Gladys; his sister Elizabeth Jean; his son James Edison; his parents-in-law, Graham and Dorothy Dauphinee; his stepfather Eastwood Ives; his brothers-in-law, Duncan and Harley Dauphinee; and his nephew Alan Cornelius.

He is survived by: his significant other Iris Dauphinee; his children, Michael (Erin MacArthur) and Alison (Robert Marchand); his grandchildren, Ashley Veinot (Andrew Boisvert), Maxwell Marchand (Dana-Lynn Farrell) and Jacob Marchand (Tessa Newton); his great grandchild Madison Sanford; his sister Marjory; and his siblings-in-law, Arleigh Cornelius, Catherine Dauphinee, Shirley Dauphinee and Marilyn Kennedy (John Veldhoven). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

The family would like to thank the staff of 6 East, Camp Hill Veteran's Hospital for their excellent care of Jack over the past eighteen months and for keeping him and all of the residents' safe during these challenging COVID-19 times.
