He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph R. Sapp and Lillian Sapp (Maroun); his brother Raymond; and his cousin George (Claudette). He is survived by: his wife Judith Mary Sapp (Simms); his children, Felicity Sapp (Marc Gagne), John Sapp Jr. (Heidi), Cathy Sapp (Trent Laing) and Nicholas Sapp (Laura Farr); his grandchildren, Julia, Sara Gagne, Alexander (Michelle Johnson), Robert, David, Felicity Sapp, John, Jaime Vickery, Darcey, Patrick Loch-Sapp and Connor Farr; his brothers, Philip (Julie) and Jim (Margaret); and his sister-in-law Patricia Sapp.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 18th 2026 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Cruikshank's Halifax Funeral Home (2666 Windsor St, Halifax, NS B3K5C9). A funeral service will be held on Monday, October 19th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the St. Thomas Aquinas & Canadian Martyrs Church (1725 Oxford St, Halifax, NS B3H3Z7). A reception will be held on Monday, October 19th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location.
