He was predeceased by: his brothers, Rex, Byron and Joe; and his stepdaughters, Rae, Pearl and Lois.
He is survived by: his daughters, Marsha Ward and Maxine Haines (Wayne Peters); his grandson Geoff Haines (Serena); his great grandchildren, Cohen Anthony of Halifax, Parker Barrett of Halifax and Anabelle Lynn of Halifax; his sisters, Jean Cross (Melvin), Elizabeth Barrett and Phyllis Gilby; and his stepchildren, Calvin Murphy (Joyce), David Murphy (Louise) and Brenda Murphy. He is also survived by several step-grandchildren, nieces & nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Society.
