With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Kathleen Margaret Briand (Halifax, Nova Scotia), who passed away on March 18, 2020 at the age of 103. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Kathleen Margaret Briand to pay them a last tribute.
She was predeceased by: her husband Ethelbert G. Briand; her sons, Jack (Peter) and Roy; and her son-in-law Fred Percy. She is survived by: her daughters, Alice and Nancy; her grandchildren, Peter, Laurie-Lynn, Dyane, Lee, Holly and Kelly; and her great grandchildren, Austin, Morgan, Hannah, Nathan and Olivia. She is also survived by great-grandchildren.
This allowed her the time and space to collect donations throughout the year, display them for viewing and finally sell them all on auction night. It brought Kay great joy to be introduced and announced on stage by CTV's Steve Murphy as "Kay the Pie Lady", who always had a large wad of cash in her hand, eagerly waiting donation.
