She was predeceased by: her parents, Victor Downie and Lexena Downie (MacDonald); and her brothers, Beaton Downie (Roma) and Victor. She is survived by: her husband Charles of Halifax; her sons, Peter of Burlington and John of Toronto; her daughter-in-law Smita Halder; her grandsons, Sam of Toronto and Paul of Toronto; and her siblings, Allan Downie (Barbara) and Ann-Marie Downie (Tom Cuddihy).
A funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, July 2nd 2025 at 11:00 AM at the St Stephen's Catholic Church (6032 Normandy Dr, Halifax, NS B3K2S9).
