She was predeceased by: her parents, Eugene Matthews and Annie Matthews (Grandy). She is survived by: her husband James Francis MacKenzie (Jim); her children, Derek (Michelle Bower) and Denise (James Gordon); her grandchildren, Katie, Brandon, MacKenzie and Nolan; her great grandchild Olivia; her siblings, Norma Bishop (Wayne), Lois McPhee (Danny) and Wayne Matthews (Dorothy); her in-law Lawrence; and her friends, Anne Sharp, Bernice Marrayatt, Muriel White and Barb Fancy.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, July 18th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 11:45 AM at the Atlantic Funeral Home (6552 Bayers Rd, Halifax, NS B3L2B3). A reception will be held on Friday, July 18th 2025 from 11:45 AM to 1:45 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to Diabetes Canada, Heart & Stroke & Kidney Foundation of Canada or a charity of choice.
