He was predeceased by: his parents, Gary Smith and Jean Smith (MacPhail). He is survived by: his nibling Xander; his sister Amy Smith; his brother-in-law Adam Baggs; and his nieces and nephews, Riley LeRoux, Alexander Smith-Baggs and Katherine Smith-Baggs.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Muscular Dystrophy Canada.
