She was predeceased by: her parents, Mary Margaret (Rankin) and Lawrence Joseph Young; her husband Darrell Stanley Walker; her siblings, Anna (Brennan), John, Harold, Lorraine (Simon) and Larry Jr.; her grandson David Walker; her stepmother Alice (Sullivan); and her stepsiblings, Nellie, Tootsie, Verna, Dottie, Ralph, Bill and Jean.

She is survived by: her children, Darrell Jr., Christopher (Toronto), Heather Ann and Colleen; her brother Peter; her grandchildren, Bran Jennex, Gregory, Laura Walker, Ronin and Abigail Varga; her stepgrandchildren, Alec, Lydia and Evan Jennex; and her sisters-in-law, Edie Young, Marie Young, Sheila Sullivan and Marion Sullivan Clarke.

In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that memorial donations in Colette's name be made to Northwood Bedford Ivany Place or the Alzheimer's Society of Nova Scotia.
