“When I read that Momma had passed away I was broken hearted. Mary and I meant and became friends at East Saint Margarets in Indian Harbour. We had not seen alot of each other over the years, but when we did there was hugs, a lot of hugs. I remember Mary ( Momma , is what I called her way back when we would go to the Seabright Legion dances. Last time I saw Mary was at St Andrews Church in Timberlea , Turkey Dinner last Christmas season. It was so nice to see her she was worried, I lost weight.”

“Dear Charlane, Missy and Mary's family, I am so sorry for your loss. Your mom was a truly warm person, who gave the best hugs! When I was new prof, she took the time and care to explain how things worked, and she always made me feel welcome and special. We shared a great many laughs together over the years. As you know, she was known as "Mama Mary" around Dal, and that's because she raised so many of us young faculty as we blundered into academia with sometimes limited practical knowledge of how Universities actually work.
