It is with sadness that the passing of Matilda Mary Britten of Halifax, Nova Scotia is shared. Matilda, born on February 9, 1940, passed away on September 17, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
Matilda will be remembered for the time spent with loved ones and the moments that brought joy to those around her. Friends and family will honour Matilda by reflecting on shared memories and the positive influence she had in their lives. Though Matilda is no longer present, the bonds she created and the experiences shared will endure. Matilda’s memory will continue to be a source of comfort for all who knew her.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Alma Landry and Pascal Landry; and her brothers, Ceasear, Douglas and Everett.
She is survived by: her daughter Carol Ann Bateman (Jason); her grandson Jonathan Bateman; and her sisters, Theresa and Lena.
A funeral service was held on Thursday, September 24th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the J. Albert Walker Funeral Home Chapel (149 Herring Cove Rd, Halifax, NS B3P1K6).
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Nova Scotia in Matilda's memory.
