He was predeceased by: his parents, Violet Shaw (Hicks) and Donald Shaw; and his sister Pamela. He is survived by: his children, Patricia Gillis (Sandy), Donald Shaw, Greg Shaw, Brantford and Sharon Shaw (Darcy Pettipas); his grandchildren, Spencer Gillis (Sonia Richard), Erica Gillis (Jason Dominey), Jennifer, Emily, Maria Shaw, Aidan, Colin Shaw, Ingrid and Ainslie Pettipas; and his great grandchildren, Bennett, Ellis Dominey, Harikoa Wells and Thomas Gillis.

Donations in Dad's memory may be made to his favourite charity, the Alzheimer's Society of Nova Scotia.
