She was predeceased by: her parents, G. Roland Bell and G. Blanche Murray; her husbands, Douglas Fillmore Jr. and Desmond Shatford; and her siblings, Murdock, Dolly, Ruth, Mary and Jean.

She is survived by: her sister Betty Minnick; her children, Timothy (Rhoda) of Ingramport, Randy (Cindy) of St. Margarets Bay, Bonnie (Ray Crews) of Upper Tantallon, Sandra (Terry Pulsifer) of Upper Tantallon and Wendy (Mathew Hessian) of Hammonds Plains; her stepchildren, Patty, Pamela, Steven, Michael and Brian Shatford; and her grandchildren, Michele, Candace, Tyler, Ashley, Jonathan, Emily, Mikayla and Addison. She is also survived by six great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Muriel's memory may be made to the church or to Souls Harbour.
