We are sad to announce that on September 12, 2018, Rita Constance Gates (Halifax, Nova Scotia), born in Herring Cove, Nova Scotia passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parent William Brophy; her husband Morris; her daughter Helen Kimber; her siblings, Eileen, Edna, Helena, Genevieve, Mildred, Bertha, Thelma and William; her nephew William; and her stepsiblings, Dorothy, Edith, Graham and Eric.
She is survived by: her parent Mary Brophy (Richardson); her children, Rita Dominique of Waterloo, PQ, Mary Probert (William), Timberlea Penny, Linda Penny (Stewart Judd), Lower Sackville and David Sackville (Lily); her half-sister Marie Reid (Robert); and also Lower Sackville. She is also survived by 7 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to St. Vincent's Guest Home, or to the Canadian Cancer Society.
