He was predeceased by: his parents, Doctor Denis R. S. Howell and Elizabeth Howell (Rising); and his brother Peter Howell. He is survived by: his wife Dawn Howell (Benvie); his daughters, Kathleen Howell, Andrea (Howell), Masterson (England) and Denise Howell (Ottawa); and his brother William J. Howell of Toronto. He is also survived by three grandsons and one granddaughter.
