He was predeceased by: his parents, Michael Briand and Clara Briand (MacDoland); and his siblings, Gerald Kenneth Dean, Albert Percy Dean and Dorothy Dean.
He is survived by: his sister Kathleen Rankin; his niece Tabitha Lynds (Jeff); and his nephews, Michael James and Andrew Campbell Rankin.
