He was predeceased by: his parents, Carl Backman and Helen Backman. He is survived by: his wife Sandra Backman; his children, Bruce of Adelaide, Australia, Pam (Roland Kirschner) of Toronto and Karen (Derek Mason) of Oakville, Ontario; and his grandchildren, Lucas, Sean, Miller, Avery, Erich, Isabel, Flynn, Bree and Max.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Ron's memory may be made to St. Paul's Anglican Church, 1749 Argyle Street.
