He was predeceased by: his parents, William Burns and Helen Burns; and his siblings, William, Roy, Robert, Winnie Bayers and Mary Findlay.
He is survived by: his wife Judy Burns; his daughter Cheryl Burns; his pet Sammy; his sister Irene Johnston; and his sisters-in-law, Nancy Newbury, Marie Burns, Vivian Burns and Halifax. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews and extended family.
