He was predeceased by: his parent Clayton Skinner; his wife Shirley (Foulkes); and his children, Joseph and Christine Skinner. He is survived by: his parent Gwendolyn Skinner (Bartlett); his children, William, Marilyn Bryden (David), Joanne Clarke (Andrew), Mary Jane Skinner (Billy), Donna Skinner and Joanna Skinner (Brett); and his siblings, Richard (Linda), Michael "Mike" (June), Stanley (Pamela), Edward "Ed" (Lynne), Elizabeth Peters (Peter), Ethel Rideout (Edward) and Cindy Thompson. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren; seven great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
