Shaun Joseph Machnik Obituary

With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Shaun Joseph Machnik of Halifax, Nova Scotia, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on February 28, 2025 at the age of 45. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Shaun Joseph Machnik to pay them a last tribute.

He was predeceased by: his grandparents, Barbara, Charles O'Rourke, Lillian and Frank Machnik. He is survived by: his parents, Lelia Machnik (O'Rourke) and Frank Machnik; his wife Lindsay (Oliver); his siblings, Kathy Willis (Daniel), Frank (Mary Anne), David and Mark; his nieces and nephews, Sean, Ryan, Liam, Aidan, Gabriel, Eva, Ila and Hayden; his parents-in-law, Wes and Angie Oliver; and his siblings-in-law, Jenna (Lucas) and Cody (Laura).

Visitation was held on Thursday, March 6th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Atlantic Funeral Home (6552 Bayers Rd, Halifax, NS B3L2B3). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Friday, March 7th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at 6466 Bayers Rd, Halifax, NS B3L2B1. A reception was held on Friday, March 7th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church (6476 Bayers Rd, Halifax, NS B3L2B1).

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the IWK Foundation, the QEII Foundation, St. Martha's Regional Hospital Foundation, The R. Mark Sadler Fellowship in Clinical Epilepsy and Neurophysiology, Chalice Child Sponsorship, Open Door, and the Franciscans of Halifax.
