She was predeceased by: her husband Howard MacKenzie; her grandson Nicholas; her parents, Catherine White (Cashen) and James F. White; her sister Joan; and her brother-in-law Maurice Cannon.
She is survived by: her children, Debbie (Jimi Rockola), Howard "Howie" (Patty), Charlie (Corina) and Ernie (Ruth); and her brother Jimmie (Donna). She is also survived by her five granddaughters, seventeen great-grandchildren, and two great-great-granddaughters.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Shirley's memory may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Nova Scotia.
