She was predeceased by: her parents, Edward Finck and Violet Finck; her husband Alexander Richard Dawson; and her siblings, Josh, Roy, Charles Finck, Blanche McDonald and Marjorie Langille.
She is survived by: her daughters, Cheryl MacFarlane (Paul) and Dawn Newman (Ken); her grandchildren, Andrea, Adrienne of Richard, A. J., Lori, Lisa and Alex; her great grandchildren, Chloe, Kiera, Kael, Aiden, Kaleb, Zachary and Maxwell; and her niece Colleen.
Due to current Covid restrictions, space is limited to 50 people.
To pay tribute to her fondness for cats, in lieu of flowers, donations in the Shirley's name may be made to the SPCA Nova Scotia or Bide Awhile Animal Shelter.
