She was predeceased by: her parents, Gilbert Melanson and Alice Melanson (Brown); her husband Cyril Rafters; and her son-in-law Mike Paul. She is survived by: her children, Philip Rafters (Dianne) and Mary Paul (Rafters); her grandsons, Patrick and Andrew Rafters; and her siblings, Helen Harris (Gerald), Sonny Melanson (Joyce), Kenny Melanson (Judy), Pauline Jenkins (Nelson) and Barb Fancy (Jeff). She is also survived by her many cousins, nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
Visitation was held on Friday, September 11th 2026 at 12:00 PM at the Atlantic Funeral Home (6552 Bayers Rd, Halifax, NS B3L2B3). A funeral service was held on Friday, September 11th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 1:30 PM at the same location.
