He was predeceased by: his wife Mae; his sisters, Mary and Kaye; and his half-brothers, Billy, Peter and Nick.

He is survived by: his children, Stephen (Joanne), Randy (Janet) and Lori (Jim); and his half-brother Alex.

“To continue ... it is with some irony that I write my condolence message from Ukraine. My wife's mother passed away suddenly and I am here with my wife and our kids as we mourn her death. I say this with some irony given Steve's Ukrainian roots. Our sincerest condolences. Steve lived a good long life. May he find peace in passing from this world and may you, Lori, Randy and Steve have strength during this time of sorrow and be able to celebrate the good memories of Steve during his long life.”

“Steve, Randy and Lori - I am so sorry to hear of the passing of your Dad. Even when expected, it does not in any way diminish the impact and the sorrow. I have such fond childhood memories of spending Christmases with you and Aunt Mae and Uncle Steve, not to mention those Sundays in the summer swimming at Sunnyside while our parents played cards on a beach blanket. I regret not having had the opportunity to drop in for a visit in Steve's later years. Living so far away has its detriments.”
