Stewart Alan Gilkie Obituary
We are sad to announce that, on October 24, 2022, at the age of 97, Stewart Alan Gilkie (Halifax, Nova Scotia), born in Sambro, Nova Scotia passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Albert Gilkie and Ann Gilkie (Hartlen); his wife Muriel (Hart); his son Jeffery; and his siblings, Ralph, Cecil, Brenton, Donald, Harold, Leta Kirk and Sheila Darrah.
He is survived by: his daughter-in-law Sherrie Gilkie; his granddaughter Kassy Gilkie; and his siblings, Sylvia Schnare, Dolly Gray (Marshall) and Kenny (Edna). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Even during the pandemic, his love of cards was still evident and very important to him — if his Homecare worker happened to stop by during a game of cards, he'd tell them now is not a good time and please come back another day.
Donations in memory of Stewart can be made to the St James United Church in Sambro.
