He was predeceased by: his parents, Dimitrios Sarlanis and Ageliki Sarlanis; and his brother Mixali. He is survived by: his wife Marina (Scopelites); his children, Ageliki Sarlanis, Christina Dodge (David), Demetri Sarlanis (Lisa) and Rothanthe Zelios (Jimmy); and his grandchildren, Taso (Thea), Costadina, Niko and Thanasi.
