He is survived by: his close friend Theresa Horwill; his son Kirk (Allison); his grandchildren, Kiera, Amanda and Ian; his daughter Patricia (Robert Plante); his sister Jo-Ann Fullerton (David Rand); his niece Stephanie Feltham (Greg); his grandson Oliver; his son Duane; and his grandchildren, Vanessa, Ryan (Jason) and Cassandra.
While working as a public servant, he received the "People's Choice Award" by the Operation's Branch of CIPO and a Merit Award for his contribution to the development of the Integrated Circuit Topography Act (ICTA).
