He was predeceased by: his parents, Claude Cormier and Geneva Cormier (Jones); and his siblings, Ray (Elaine), Louise, Alfred, Roy and George (Stanley).

He is survived by: his wife Bernadette Mary Cormier (Martin); his children, Wayne (Arlene) of Halifax, Dale (Janie) of Halifax, Deborah White of Halifax, Kenny (Paula) of Halifax, Paul (Lynne) of Kingston, ON, Karen MacDonald (Brian) of Deep Cove, NS, Kevin (Wanda) of Halifax and David of Halifax; his sisters, Florence Mearns of Niagara and Genevieve McAlduff of Waterford, PEI; his siblings-in-law, Anita, Tilmon (Pat), Carol Ann (Alfred) and Christine (Wayne); and his grandchildren, Michael, Christa, Michelle, Gayle, Ricky, Valerie, Craig, Robbie, Erica, Melissa, Jennifer, Brittany, Brandon, Jacquelyn, Colin, Alex and Rachel. He is also survived by 18 great-grandchildren.
