He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward McLaughlin and Lillian McLaughlin (Scallion); his siblings, Jack, James and Jean; and also Edna.

He is survived by: his wife Joan McLaughlin (Smith); his sister Margaret Comeau; and his siblings-in-law, Barry Smith (Rosemary) and Cassie McLellan (Bill).
