He was predeceased by: his parents, Vincent Murphy and Josephine Murphy (Peach); his brother Martin Murphy; his nephew Corey Murphy; his niece Natasha Murphy; and his sister-in-law Pam Murphy.
He is survived by: his siblings, James Murphy (Yvonne) of Edmonton, Joseph of Halifax, Robert of Halifax, William of Halifax, Ralph Murphy of Halifax, Cathy Martin (Jim) of Ketch Harbour, JoAnne Murphy of Ottawa and Elizabeth Murphy of Halifax. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews.
