He was predeceased by: his parents, Truman M. Giffin and Georgie Giffin (Smith); and his siblings, Truman Giffin (Smith) and Lida Hudson (Betty). He is survived by: his wife Madeline MacDonald (Maddie); his children, Steven (Eastern Passage), Sandra Vancouver (Cristian Worthington) and Scott (Eastern Passage); his grandchildren, Lindsay, Lauren and Alex Giffin; and his sisters, Charlotte Hudson (Marven) and Patricia Langley (Gary).

Memorial donations may be made to The Alzheimer's Society of Nova Scotia, or Charity of choice.
