We announce the death of William John VanGorder of Halifax, Nova Scotia, born in Hamilton, Ontario, who passed away on September 6, 2026, at the age of 83. William will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. William will be remembered for the impact he had on the lives of those around him. Friends, family, and colleagues will cherish their memories and the time shared. Those who knew William will remember moments of kindness, warmth, and presence. Though words cannot fully capture his life, the legacy of connections and experiences remains. William’s absence will be deeply felt by those who valued his companionship.
He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Esther VanGorder; and his daughters, Elizabeth VanGorder (Allan) and Tamara Cox (Stephen).
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Bill's memory to the Theatre Arts Guild, Spay Day House, the Bide Awhile Animal Shelter, or Special Olympics Nova Scotia.
