He was predeceased by: his parents, Daniel Hanson and Edna Hanson (Watson); his wife Maureen; and his sisters, Carol Anne, Arlene, Patsy and Ann.

He is survived by: his sons, Bill (Mary) and Paul (Pam); his siblings, Judy, Mary (Steve), Maureen, Geraldine (Jeff), Lorraine (Chuck), Margie (Steve), Beverly (Clement), Marion, Harold (Linda) and Danny (Shalene); his grandchildren, Ross (Emily) of Cochran, AB, Marla (Travis), Nolan (Chloe), Rick (LeeAnne) and Kyle; and his great grandchildren, Drew, Archie, Van and Carter. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Alzheimer's Society.
