He was predeceased by: his parents, James Godwin and Mildred Godwin (Mahoney); and his siblings, Ida Godwin, Ken Godwin and Gary Godwin.

He is survived by: his wife Karen; his siblings, Mary Ann Connors (Ronald), James (Doreen), Bedford, Patricia Flack (William), Patrick, Stanley and John (Denise) of Ontario; and his siblings-in-law, Lynn, Kristine and Richard Boudreau. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
