We are sad to announce that on March 3, 2023, at the age of 83, Doreen Elizabeth Smith of Hantsport, Nova Scotia passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by : her father George Ettinger; her husband Richard Smith; and her siblings, Margaret Tracey, Arthur, Allan and James Ettinger.

She is survived by : her children, Barbara Broddy (Craig), Brian Smith (Valerie) and Karen Price (Stephen); her brothers, George Ettinger (Joan), Gary Ettinger (Debbie), Robert Ettinger (Beverly) and Basil Ettinger (Karen); and her grandchildren, Josh Smith (Mallory), Kathlyn Smith (Troy), Christopher Smith, Sophie Penner (Alex), Tessa Price, Meghan Broddy and Taylor Broddy. She is also survived by five great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews and extended family.

Donations in memory of Doreen may be made to a charity of one's choice.

“Doreen, as was her husband, Richard, a faithful believer and I am so blessed to have known them. Doreen was a friend before I gave my life to the Lord and she encouraged me to ask questions in Sunday School. I discovered that God can handle questions, but not all Christians can. I am so thankful and blessed that I had talked to her within the last month. Doreen & Richard will always have a special place in my heart and I am very thankful for their prayers and friendship. Prayers for the family.”
