He was predeceased by: his parents, Vernon Lee and Ruby Baker (LaPierre); his in-laws, John "Jack" and Lorraine Garden (MacDonnell); his brother Joseph Baker; his brother-in-law Don Garden; and his niece Michelle Gear.
He is survived by: his wife Janet; his sons, Matthew (Grant Maltais) and Adam (Kara); his grandchildren, Christina, Kayden, Natalia, Rylee and Lyla; his siblings, Marg Publicover, Greg Baker (Diane), Carol Gear, Debbie Quigley (Bob), Valerie Townsend (Mike) and Darrell Baker; his godchildren, Todd Publicover, Shauna Baker and Patrick Jayasinghe; and his nephew Wally Publicover. He is also survived by 27 nieces and nephews; several great nieces & nephews.
A funeral Mass was held on Tuesday, March 3rd 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Saint Genevieve Catholic Church (723 E Chezzetcook Rd, East Chezzetcook, NS B0J2L0).
Family flowers only, donations can be made to Saint Anselms Cemetery in memory o f Bernard by calling the church office 902-827-7562 or visiting the office at 723 East Chezzetcook Rd. Tuesday to Friday 10am - 1 pm.
