She was predeceased by: her husband Ernest Leo Doucette (Ernie); her parents, Alexander Gillis and Corrine Gillis (Benoit); and her siblings, Thelma Nicks (Tilly), Gemma Doucette, James and Ralph Gillis.
She is survived by: her children, Erna Hatcher (Lindsay), Lynn Doucette, Joan Creuzot (Vic), Maureen Singleton (Jim), Terry Doucette, Paul Doucette (Lucy), Peter Doucette and Darren Doucette (Carolyn); and her sisters, June Gillis and Paulette Tedford. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren, many special nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Monday, October 19th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Fillmore and Whitman Funeral Home (36205 Cabot Trail, Ingonish Beach, NS B0C1K0). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, October 21st 2026 at 11:00 AM at the St. Peter's Catholic Church (37385 Cabot Trail, Ingonish Beach, NS B0C1L0).
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Peter's Catholic Church, the Graveyard Fund, or a charity of your choice.
