She was loved and cherished by many people including : her parents, Alex Barron and Doris Williams; her sisters, Mary Fitzgerald (Smery) and Mildred Fitzgerald (Ervie); her significant other Tammy; her grandparents, Michael and Priscilla Barron (Donovan); her aunt Rade; her daughter Vivian Smook (Ted); and her stepmother Ella. She was also cherished by step brothers and sisters and many nieces and nephews.

She was a faithful blood donor, giving 150 donations to the Canadian Red Cross.
