He was predeceased by: his father Anthony "Tony" Gillis; his grandparents, Jessie, Romie Gillis, Duncan and Agnes Gillis; and his aunts and uncles, Ann Marie McAdam (James), Peggy Hurley (George), Jessie MacDougall (Willie), John Gillis, Richie Gillis (Donelda), Johnny MacLellan and Johnny Gillis.
He is survived by: his mother Muriel Gillis; his sister Louise Gillis; his nephews, Charles Tiller and Jack Tiller; and his aunts and uncles, Mary Gillis (Donald R.), Cecilia MacEachen (Joe), Aurea Gillis, Bernie Gillis, Robert Gillis (Diane), Marjorie Gillis, Danny Gillis (Kelly), Sandy Gillis, Gord Gillis (Will), Catherine Gillis, Stephen Gillis (Deanna), Mike Gillis (Mary), Veronica Gillis, Rita MacLellan and Thelma Gillis.
Visitation was held on Thursday, March 5th 2026 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the St. Andrew's Church. A funeral Mass will be held on Friday, March 6th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the St. Andrew's Catholic Church.
