He was predeceased by: his parents, John Angus Smith and Catherine Smith (MacEachern) of Deepdale; and his siblings, Pauline Krahl of Inverness, Gordon Smith of Inverside and Joe Smith of Inverness.

He is survived by: his wife Cheryl Smith of Niagra Falls, ON; his son Adam Smith (Kenzie) of Inverness; his stepdaughter Gina Faubert (Demitri Triantafillou) of Waterdown, ON; his siblings, Donnie MacDonald of Kingston, ON, Colonel Smith (Gloria) of Inverness and Rachael McConnell (Bob) of Liverpool; his stepgranddaughter Naomi Faubert of Waterdown, ON; and his sister-in-law Cindy Smith. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
