He was predeceased by: his parents, Archie MacDonnell and Agnes MacDonnell (Samson); and his sisters, Ann-Marie and Theresa. He is survived by: his grandchild Sawyer; his wife Claire; his children, Matthew (Heather), Amanda (Jeremy), Sarah (Steve), James (Katie) and Liam (Andrea); his siblings, Tina, Josephine (David) and Frankie (Michelle); his nephew Jonathan; and his daughter-in-law Katie. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 20th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 10:45 AM at the St. Margaret of Scotland Church (178 Broad Cove Marsh Rd, Inverness, NS B0E1N0). A funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, October 20th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Inverness Consolidated Memorial Hospital.
