He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank Melanson and Elizabeth Melanson-Scopie (Hyden); his son Daniel Melanson; and his siblings, Sandra Libby (Melanson), Thomas Melanson, Robert Scopie (Bob) and Michael Scopie.
He is survived by: his daughters, Michelle Melanson and Kara Melanson. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
