It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Brainard Darrell Fitzgerald (Kentville, Nova Scotia), who passed away on April 2, 2026, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Brainard M. Fitzgerald and Doris Fuller (Fitch Fitzgerald); his stepfather Pierson; his parents-in-law, Cis and Bernard O'Neil; and his siblings-in-law, Danny, Darrel O'Neil, Rae Owens (Dennis) and Jean Harris (Bob).

He is survived by: his wife Doreen; his children, Brainard David (Susan) and Jane Lynn Fitzgerald-Foster (David); his grandchildren, Will (Caleigh) and Sophie; his great grandchild Ellie; his stepgranddaughters, Taylor and Hayden; his siblings, Lynn Fitzgerald (Mary), Tim Fitzgerald, Andrew Fuller (Nadine) and Chyrstal Selig (Jeff); his sisters-in-law, Joan and Michele O'Neil; and his cousin Debbie Boyd of Truro. He is also survived by three nephews and a niece.
