He was predeceased by: his parent Starr Gertridge; his daughter Darla; and his siblings, Faye Stirling, Bonnie Wheaton, Blaine, Murray, Ross and Wilfred.

He is survived by: his parent Hilda Gertridge (Schofield); his wife Geneva (Schofield); his children, Alison Gertridge of Alberta and Dennis (Donna); his grandchildren, Reid, Drew of Ontario and Jeremy of Gaspereau; his siblings, Fern Eye and David of Gaspereau Mountain; and also Greenwich. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
