He was predeceased by : his parents, Stephen Soltesz and Susannah Soltesz (Toth); his wife Rita (MacLellan); and his siblings, Stephen, Louis, Joseph, Mary (James Buel) and Helen (Terry Currie).

He is survived by : his children, Gerard Soltesz (Karen Drew-Soltesz) and Gezele (Roy MacMillan); his grandson Derek MacMillan; and his great grandchildren, Connor MacMillan and Madison MacMillan. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
