He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles John MacDonald and Catherine Isabel MacDonald; his wife Doris; and his daughter Joan. He is survived by: his daughters, Jennifer MacDonald (Mark Setterfield) and Jessica VanLuxemborg; his son-in-law Louis Snyder; his grandchildren, Scott Snyder (Jullie), Anna-Leigh Snyder (Dorion Cudmore), Jane Snyder (Mark Patter), John VanLuxemborg (Madison Robertson) and Andrew VanLuxemborg (Victoria Merrett); his great grandchildren, Emmett and Megan Snyder; his family, Frances, Victor, Mary, Clarence, Cathy, Camillia and Allen; his half-siblings, Malcolm, Mary, Margie, Charlie, Jessie, Neil, Rita, Rose, Irene, Lillian, Anna, Bernard and Cathy; and his caregivers, Francesca Bruekhuizen, Judy Upshaw, Sherrie Morrison and Joyce MacDonald.
A reception will be held on Monday, October 26th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the White Family Funeral Home (100 Cornwallis St, Kentville, NS B4N 2E4). During the COVID years, his cats Tiger 1 and Capt. Black became daily companions.
