He was predeceased by: his parents, Wallace Simpson and Hazel Simpson (Lacey); his wife Nina Simpson (Patterson); his siblings, John Simpson and Linda Brown; and his brothers-in-law, Lyndon Brown (Bob) and Michael Brewster.

He is survived by: his daughters, Loretta (Richard) and Laura (Steve); his siblings, Helen Brown (Gary) of Centreville, NS, Joyce Brewster of Halifax, NS, Bill (Katherine) of Kentville, NS and Curtis (Elizabeth); and his sister-in-law Joy Simpson of Centreville, NS. He is also survived by seven grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
