He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank Smith and Della Smith (Cox); his former wife Gladys; his wife Freda; and his siblings, Carl and Karen.
He is survived by: his grandchildren, Kyle and Sarah; his children, Dale (Anne Beck) of Edmonton, AB, Sharon Barkhouse of Bedford, NS and Tina Smith (Robert Pimlott) of Grande Prairie, AB; his grandchildren, Sarah-Lynn Janes (Adam), Mitchell Arnburg (Sarah Bulgin) of Vancouver, BC, Ryan Smith of Hinton, AB, Randy Smith of Hinton, AB and Joel Barkhouse; his great grandchildren, Noah, Abigail, Rosalie Janes and Kinley Barkhouse; and his siblings, Jean Fowler (Dan), Wanda Smith, Frank (Bea), Wayne (Lynda) and Orrin (Patti). He is also survived by nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
