He was predeceased by: his parents, Ernest Gillis and Viola Gillis; and his siblings, Brian and Frannie. He is survived by: his wife Ellen Gillis; his daughters, Jane and Leigh Anne; his brother Don; and his grandchildren, Alex, Sydney and Lili. He is also survived by his family, friends.

Memorial donations in Peter's memory may be made to charity of choice but he had a special place for the Canadian Cancer Society or the Alzheimer Society of Canada.
